SIX men have been charged with drink driving and two with failing to give a breath test after being stopped by police.
The drivers were all stopped by police on Saturday and Sunday.
Two men, aged 36 and 26, were due to appear in court after failing to provide a breath specimen in the Blackburn and Kintore areas on Sunday.
A further six men aged between 19 and 25 were also charged in relation to drink driving in the Laurencekirk, Peterhead, Banff, Buckie and Fraserburgh areas between Saturday and Sunday.
The men are anticipated to appear at court at a later date.
Roads Policing Inspector Ewan Innes said: “Our message is clear – don’t drink and drive.
“It is disappointing that so many motorists have been stopped for drink driving in a relatively short period of time.
“I would urge motorists to again think ahead if they are out for an evening and having a drink that they plan their journey home.”
