After weeks of counting the votes, the shortlist for the Evening Express’ Home Delivery Awards has been confirmed.

Launched in February, the initiative, sponsored by the Belmont Filmhouse, aims to recognise our paper boys and girls who brave all weathers to ensure customers get their paper on time.

The final winners from the North-east will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Belmont Filmhouse next Sunday.

Dallas King, marketing and events manager at the venue, said he was looking forward to the event.

He added: “It’s going to be fantastic.

“We have a great relationship with Aberdeen Journals and this is a way of strengthening that and giving back to the community.

“We’ll be rolling out the metaphorical red carpet and hosting a Hollywood-style premiere with popcorn, ice cream, glitz, glamour and the works.”

More than 1,300 votes were cast during the month-long nomination period where readers were invited to recognise the efforts of their delivery person across four categories.

Each category has three finalists competing for the top prize along with two highly-commended runner-ups.

The shortlist is Katrina Svisteva, of Torry, Amy Hardie, of Hatton of Fintray, Quinn Lynch, of Dyce, Callum Anderson, of Bridge of Don, Craig Dawson, of Kincorth, Nicole Allan, of Torry, Taylor Emslie, of Bridge of Don, Hannah Byres, of Garthdee, Eilidh Duncan, of Inverurie, Callum Patience, of Peterhead, Jamie Galashan, of Peterculter and Daniel Duncan, of Holburn.
