THE Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for rain and wind in the North-east today.
It has put out yellow alerts – meaning be aware – for the area until tomorrow at 3am for rain and tonight at 11.50pm for wind.
Its forecast warned of potential flooding and transport disruption.
A Met Office spokeswoman said the total rainfall could reach 20-40mm or more in parts of the region.
She said: “The rainfall warning comes into the Grampian area in the west.
“The upper end of that range is more likely across the high ground whereas at lower levels it is more likely to be around the 20-30mm mark.
“In extremes, you could see through 60-80mm.”
