Weekend and public holiday services at two North-east health centres are to be cut.
At the moment, Montrose and Brechin Minor Injury and Illness Unit (MIIU) services are open seven days a week, including public holidays, between 9am and 4.30pm.
From June 4, both MIIUs will be open between 9am and 4.30pm on weekdays only and will be closed on weekends and public holidays. During weekends and public holidays people can attend the MIIUs in Forfar and Arbroath.
The change follows a recent review by Angus Health and Social Care Partnership.
Gail Smith, head of community health and care services for Angus Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “Although we have been actively recruiting nurses, we have been unable to replace staff with the required level of experience and expertise to run this specialist service.”
