SEPA issue flood alert for North-east

Surface water may cause minor disruption to commuters tomorrow morning, SEPA is warning.

In a post on its official Twitter feed earlier this afternoon, it warned that due to a period of heavy rain – which will fall as snow on higher ground – could cause some disruption due to surface water.

The disruption is expected to be minimal, but could result in isolated flooding of low-lying land, roads and other known trouble spots.

It may also cause difficult driving conditions.

The alert covers both the east and north coasts of the region.

The warning comes as the Met Office issued a yellow level alert for snow in the region.
