Section of road set to close to allow for AWPR works to be carried out

A section of a North-east road is to close over the weekend.

Part of the B979 Stonehaven to Culter road at Ury, Stonehaven, will be shut from 8pm on Friday until 6am next Monday.

The closure is due to Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) works.

A diversion is available via B979 Glenury Estate – B979 David Street – B979 Allardice Street – A957 Bridgefield – A957 Dunnottar Avenue – A957 Glasslaw – A92 – A90.

An alternative diversion route is via B979 New Mains of Ury – A90 – Newtonhill flyover – A90 – A957 Glasslaw.

Aberdeenshire Council apologised for any inconvenience caused throughout the closure.

Meanwhile, the A948 Ellon to New Deer road in Auchnagatt was to be closed from today for two weeks.

The road was to be closed from the 30mph signs (north side) to the unclassified Braemo road.

The closure is in place to allow for carriageway resurfacing works to be completed.
