MOTORISTS were today facing delays on two busy roads in Aberdeen due to roadworks for the Third Don Crossing.
Work is being carried out to install cable ducting on St Machar Drive and Bedford Road for the £18 million project.
It has led to heavy delays on both roads.
Councillor for the area Ross Grant, the city council’s spokesman for regeneration and transport, said: “The current four-way system is in place to allow for the contractor to carry out necessary works over the weekend to install cable duct road crossings on St Machar Drive and Bedford road.
“These works had to be carried out, and we apologise to nearby road users for this inconvenience.
“However it was felt that more work could be done over the weekend when traffic levels are somewhat lower than during the week.”
