Exclusive new aerial images show progress on the £745 million Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
The bypass is due to open at the end of 2017 and will link the A90 at Stonehaven and Charleston south of Aberdeen and Blackdog to the north.
Flying with HJS Helicopters, based at Culter Helipad, in an R44 aircraft flown by pilot Patrick Bennett, Evening Express photographer Darrell Benns took in the scheme’s development.
Images show a number of bridges and flyovers under construction, along with workmen and machinery busy on stretches of road.
They offer the clearest view so far on how the bypass may look once finished.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said: “The construction of the AWPR/B-T project currently remains scheduled to open to traffic in winter 2017.”
