A gas network is set to be upgraded next month as part of wider works.
The local gas network in Lesmurdie Road, Elgin, is due to have essential work undertaken as part of an ongoing mains replacement programme by the gas distribution company SGN.
Developed with the Health and Safety Executive, the work forms part of a £490,000 project to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply in the area.
Following discussions with Moray Council, the project will start on August 7 and continue for approximately 20 weeks.
Phase one of the project will see Lesmurdie Road closed northbound between its junctions with Lossiemouth Road and Reid Street from August 7 for around eight weeks. A diversion will be put in place, with local access for residents.
Temporary traffic lights will be used for phase two of the project, which will be in place between the junctions with Reid Street and Chandlers Rise for 12 weeks.
