WHEN the Chatty Man arrives in Aberdeen with a show called Yap, Yap, Yap you kind of know what you’re in for.
Right enough, Alan Carr didn’t shut up for the better part of 90 minutes, in fact he barely drew breath. And the audience loved every second.
From the moment he bounced on to the HMT stage with a cheery “hello Aberrrrrdeen” he had everyone in the palm of his hand.
What followed was a set that drew everything from quiet chortles to full on belly laughs, with the smile on your face never fading for an instant.
From the travails of Trip Advisor to the churlishness of charity shops, Alan romped around modern irks that had everyone nodding in agreement, while laughing along with him.
It was like spending a night with an old and really funny friend, the kind you look forward to having a laugh with.
At the top of the show, the first of a four-night run, Alan said he could “feel it in his waters” that Aberdeen was ready to laugh. His waters were spot on.
