Quality coffee shops, mouth-watering takeaways and high-end hairdressers are just a few of the businesses at the heart of North-east communities.

And the Evening Express wants to celebrate these firms with the 2016 Retailer Awards.

For the second year running we have teamed up with Aberdeen Inspired for the awards, which launch today.

Evening Express editor Alan McCabe said: “The aim is to promote long-established and emerging firms and encourage more people to shop locally.

“Thousands of people across the North-east spend their lives working to serve the public and improve the communities they work in.

“So it is only right that the Evening Express, along with our partners, acknowledge and reward these hard-working and dedicated people who strive for excellence in the services they provide for all of us.

“The response we received to last year’s event was amazing and it gives us great encouragement that 2016’s Retailer Awards will be even bigger.”

From local newsagents and fashion retailers to bakeries and cocktail bars, we want to hear what makes your business stand out from the rest.
