A yacht was left with a hole in its side after two boats collided off the North-east coast today.
A lifeboat was launched from Macduff Harbour at 4.35am a yacht and a fishing boat collided four miles off Macduff.
A HM Coastguard spokesman said: “The Macduff lifeboat was launched this morning.
“Two vessels, one a fishing boat and the other a yacht, had collided four miles north of Macduff.”
He said the yacht had a hole in its side and a damaged mast and arrived into Macduff Harbour at 6.30am. The fishing boat returned safely to Fraserburgh.
The Marine and Coastguard Agency will carry out an investigation.
