Urgent repairs are under way after a slab smashed the window of an Aberdeen shop front.
The stone fell around 10ft from above the Grampian Credit Union building on Union Street around 11.25pm on Monday – the firm’s first day in its new building. As reported in later editions of yesterday’s Evening Express, a fence was erected around the area by police, with the debris cleared away.
Aberdeen City Council sent its building standards team to “work with the owner of the building to assess the cause of the fascia falling”.
A spokeswoman added: “Thereafter, the owner of the building will be expected to take any remedial action required.”
