A rare piece of Dons memorabilia has raised £1,200 to help sick children.
Euan Duthie, who was selling an autographed shirt from the testimonial of Dons legend John McMaster, said he was delighted the top fetched such a good price.
Proceeds from the online auction which was conducted via Twitter will go towards the ARCHIE Foundation’s Beards for Bairns campaign.
The Archie Foundation is the official charity of Royal Aberdeen Hospital for Sick Children.
Euan said: “The bid came in at 7pm on Sunday, an hour before the auction was set to close. I have been delighted and overwhelmed by the support.”
“This is my third year doing Beard for Bairns and I’ve raised close to £8,000 over the years.”
The shirt from the 1985 testimonial game comes complete with signatures from a host of heroes from the club’s golden era.
The shirt was winger Peter Weir’s and has been autographed by Willie Miller, John Hewitt and Alex McLeish, among others.
