A man has been airlifted to hospital after falling at a North-east beauty spot.
The rambler, who is in his 70s, was out walking close to Bennachie Visitor Centre at just after 12.30pm today when he fell ill.
Worried friends called police and officers were sent to the scene.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police were called to Bennachie at 12.36pm as there was a concern for a man who was out walking.”
The Coastguard helicopter was called and a male was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A UK Coastguard spokesman said: “The Coastguard helicopter was called to land close to Bennachie Visitor Centre to assist a man, who was then taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
