A splash of colour has been added to an Aberdeen shopping centre’s steps in a bid to inject some fun into the city centre.
As reported in later editions of yesterday’s Evening Express, the stairs leading to the roof of the St Nicholas Centre were painted in rainbow colours.
A painter was spotted covering the steps in vibrant colours with staff at the Bon Accord Centre working at the site throughout yesterday and by the early evening the transformation was complete. Another coat of non-slip paint will be applied in the coming days. Work will then begin to decorate the steps on the Schoolhill side of the complex, meaning access to both sides of the roof area of the centre will be vibrant with colour.
Craig Stevenson, centre manager, said: “We always look for ways to put a smile on people’s faces and inject a bit of fun into the city centre.
“Painting our steps in a rainbow adds a splash of colour to our corner of the city and signposts the way to our rooftop garden. I hope people come down and enjoy them as part of the great offer we have here.”
