A north-east nurse has become the face of a campaign to raise vital funds for a charity.
Jackie Smith, 48, from Turriff, is the focus of a new drive to highlight the importance of Grampian nurses who volunteer for Marie Curie.
Aberdeen Railway Station will be decorated for the next seven weeks with Jackie’s face and volunteers will ask 600 people to sign up and join “Team Jackie”. Their donations will help fund nurses who care for the terminally ill in their own home for the next two years.
Jackie said: “It’s quite a shock seeing my image throughout the station. My family will be surprised and I expect I’ll get a few phone calls about it.
“I’d do anything for Marie Curie and if it helps show people why we need their support then I’m all for it.”
