A north-east school is getting ready to take part in this year’s Rock Challenge final.
Peterhead Academy will be one of only two Scottish representatives at the Northern Premier Final on Saturday.
The annual Rock Challenge scheme encourages pupils to star in and choreograph a short musical based on making positive choices.
Peterhead will take on teams from across the country in the Grimsby Auditorium.
Last year the school finished second and scooped 11 awards of excellence.
Assistant event manager for the UK Rock Challenge, Charlotte Payne, is excited for the finals to begin.
She said: “It is great to see the continued enthusiasm of all the students and teachers involved in this years’ events.
“The quality of the performances has been incredibly high.
“One of my favourite things each year is seeing the diversity of the ideas tackled and this year there are some amazing original themes. I wish all the schools taking part the best of luck.”
More than 2,000 pupils from across the country will take part in the final. Arbroath High School is only other Scottish school taking part.
