
A child has been charged after allegedly bringing a knife to a North-east primary school.
The pupil is alleged to have brought the penknife to the school – which cannot be named for legal reasons – on March 1.
It is understood the child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, showed the knife to a classmate.
It was reported to authorities by a parent.
A spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council said: “The safety of pupils and staff in our schools is of utmost importance.
“We take this incident seriously and are working with the police to ascertain the circumstances surrounding it.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Following an incident on Tuesday, March 1, Police Scotland can confirm that a pupil has been charged.”
