A health board has released the first images of a new £14.7 million facility ahead of its opening at the end of the month.
The Health and Social Care Hub, which has been in development for more than 10 years, will formally open to patients on August 27.
However members of the public will be allowed a peek inside the finished building on August 18.
The building, in the grounds of the existing Inverurie Community Hospital, will be open to the public from 10am to noon and again from 2-4pm.
At almost 4,000sqm, the new facility will provide additional services to complement those offered by the hospital, including a public dental surgery and a community maternity unit.
The two-storey building is designed to accommodate an estimated 30,000 patients within five years, with a total of 38 consulting rooms – double that of the current GP practice.
The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership will also house the Inverurie Medical Group – set to become Scotland’s largest medical practice, serving 24,500 people.
Project manager for NHS Grampian Clare Houston said: “We are thrilled to have finally got to this point – it’s been a huge amount of work for everyone involved but I think when people see what a wonderful facility we now have on our doorstep, it will all have been worth it.
“This is a facility that the community has wanted in Inverurie for a long time so it will be a special day when we are finally open for business at the end of the month.
“From the start, the project has been about more than just providing a new building – we’ve worked hand in hand with the local community to make sure the facility will be at the heart of local health and social care for generations to come.”
She added: “The range of services on offer from across the health and social care spectrum is impressive and it will make a real difference to people.
“As a project team we are extremely proud to have been involved in helping deliver such a wonderful facility and we can’t wait to give people a sneak peek on Saturday August 18.”
Councillor Neil Baillie, who represents the Inverurie and District ward, said: “I’m absolutely delighted the Health and Social Care Hub is opening. It is a long-awaited facility that will be well used by the community.”
