A popular Aberdeen pub and restaurant will be holding an event this weekend to raise money for Rape Crisis Grampian.
From noon until 5pm this Saturday, Slains Castle on Belmont Street will be selling handmade items and staging games to raise funds for the charity and to help the Granite City Roller Derby.
Slains Castle was among 25 city pubs to sign up for the Ask for Angela campaign at the start of this year.
Under the scheme anyone who feels uneasy or uncomfortable while on a date can casually ask for “Angela” and bar staff will either call for a taxi, or contact a friend.
The main goal is to help people feel safer in the community, and prevent situations where women and men who don’t feel safe while on a date, can turn to a support network.
