An iconic Aberdeen restaurant is set to undergo a major refurbishment.
The Silver Darling at Fittie was taken over by the McGinity Group last year and is to undergo a 'significant' revamp.
First opened in 1986, the iconic restaurant has stunning views across the historic fishing village, Aberdeen beach and the harbour.
The work, which began today, is expected to take between three to four weeks and will see the restaurant updated with new stylish interiors as well as increasing the number of customers it can serve while celebrating the eatery's heritage.
Director of The McGinty’s Group, Allan Henderson, said: “We are delighted to be starting 2018 with the exciting re-development of The Silver Darling.
"It is a unique venue with truly outstanding views but we feel it’s time for a fresh look for the New Year.
“The refurbishment will allow us to reinvigorate the restaurant with new stylish interiors which will complement our plans for the food and drink offering, whilst also allowing us to increase covers in the restaurant.”
Operations Director of The McGinty’s Group, Alan Aitken, added: “The Silver Darling is one-of-kind in the area and through the revamp, we hope to celebrate the heritage of the venue, showcase our amazing location and ultimately provide the North-east with a memorable dining experience.
"We are all very excited about the new look and will be sharing sneak peek pictures on our social media channels and will update our customers with an opening date as soon as we can.”
