Police are again reminding North-east drivers not to leave their vehicles unattended to defrost windows following an attempted car theft.
Officers are investigating the attempted theft of a Vauxhall Zafira from the Keithmuir area of Drumoak at around 6.40am last Tuesday, when the car was unattended.
After the failed attempt, a male suspect wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap ran off towards the A93.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity at this time.
Sergeant McHattie of the Kincardine and Mearns Community Policing Team said: “We are reminding vehicle owners to be aware that opportunistic thieves are around and even leaving your vehicle unattended for a few seconds gives thieves the chance to steal your vehicle.
“Whilst very tempting to leave your vehicle unattended, even for a short space of time, our advice is to not risk it.”
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
