Police urge motorists to make sure they have warm clothing, food, water and sufficient fuel ahead of snow and ice

Police in the North-east are urging motorists to stock their cars with fuel, warm clothing, food and water following the yellow alert for snow and ice.

The snow and ice could lead to hazardous conditions on the road and extra caution is advised.

In a post, released by Traffic Scotland, motorists in the North-east are advised to “ensure you and your vehicle are adequately prepared”.

The statement urges motorists make sure they have “sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water” and that people charge their phones and plan their route, including alternatives, in the event they are delayed for several hours.
