Five men have today been charged after police seized drugs, including heroin, from two properties.
Police recovered crack cocaine, cannabis, and Xanax in what officers described as an “intelligence-led operation” involving local officers and detectives yesterday.
Officers carried out warrants in the Victoria Road and Girdleness Road in Torry, Aberdeen.
The estimated street value of the drugs recovered is around £1,500 and police also seized £3,000 in cash.
Three of the men – aged 23, 25 and 43 – were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today, and the remaining two men – aged 39 and 42 – have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Sergeant John Snedden said: “We are urging people to be aware of the signs that drugs are being supplied in your community and to report any concerns they have to police.
“In particular, we will target those who bring drugs into the North-east from outwith the area and look to target vulnerable people by using their homes to store or deal drugs – known as ‘cuckooing’.”
