Armed police have sealed off an Aberdeen street tonight and residents have been told to stay indoors.
The incident is centred around a third-floor flat on the Rosehill Drive.
Police, some armed, have sealed off roads in the area and are currently speaking to a man through an open window.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, can be seen sitting on the window ledge and smoking.
Customers of nearby shops have been told to stay indoors.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
Paula Clarke, a customer assistant at Rosehill Fish Bar, said: “The police are outside a block of flats and on the street itself.
“We have heard that the police are armed from customers.
“The road is blocked and police are not letting anyone outside to walk up the road.
“We just want to make sure that we are staying safe.”
An employee from Chop Chop Express, a chinese takeaway, said: “It seems that there is a block of flats that are being surrounded by police.
“We are about one or two minutes away from where they are.
“Police are not letting anyone pass through the street.”
