POLICE are today investigating reports that a firearm was shot in an Aberdeen community.
Crews were called to the Provost Rust Drive area of the city at 10.30pm last night after a member of the public thought they had heard a firearm being discharged.
There is nothing to suggest anyone was injured.
The road was closed for six hours between North Anderson Drive and Manor Avenue, and was only reopened at 4.40am.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm it’s making inquires into an allegation that a firearm was discharged on Provost Rust Drive near the junction of North Anderson Drive and Moir Crescent at around 10.30pm last night.
“Nobody was injured.
“Inquries are at an early stage.
“Anyone who saw and heard anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact police on 101.”
