Police are appealing for information after intruders targeted a garage in the North-east.
Officers were called to a property in Tree Road, Tarves, after receiving reports that someone broke into a garage there at some point between 11.15pm on Sunday and 8am yesterday. Nothing was stolen.
Investigating officer PC Nicola Wood, of the Formartine Community Policing Team, said: “If anyone recalls hearing or seeing anything suspicious in the area overnight on Sunday I would ask them to get in touch.
“Thankfully, nothing was taken in this incident but I would take this opportunity to remind all homeowners to be vigilant and ensure that they keep their front doors, windows, garages and outbuildings locked overnight and to hide or make it difficult to remove any valuables.
“If anyone does recall seeing or hearing anything that might be useful to this investigation I would ask that they call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0762 of January 29.”
Information can also be reported anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
