A worker who died in an industrial accident at the site of the Third Don Crossing has been named by police.
Ian Walker, 58, from the Dundee area, was pronounced dead at the construction site in the Danestone area of Aberdeen yesterday.
Police and two paramedic teams were called to the scene at around 4.45pm.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed of the accident.
A spokeswoman said: “We have been made aware of the incident and initial inquiries have taken place.”
Ross Grant, councillor for the area, said: “It is deeply shocking and extremely sad to hear of the news that a man has died at the construction site of the Third Don Crossing.
“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man and also his work colleagues.
“We must make sure that the family, friends and work colleagues are given time and that they get the support that they need.”
