Police have confirmed the identity of a man who died following a three-vehicle collision on the A92.
George McAllister, 79, from Broughty Ferry, died at the scene of the incident on the Arbroath to Montrose road on Friday.
The crash involved a red Volkswagen Golf driven by Mr McAllister as well as a blue Mercedes Sprinter van and a Ford Ranger pick-up.
A 47-year-old woman, who was driving the van, suffered serious injuries, while her front passenger, a male, had minor injuries.
The 50-year-old male driver of the pick-up also suffered minor injuries in the collision and all were taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
As with all sudden deaths, a report will submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
