Police name man killed in A90 crash

Police have named the man who died following a two-vehicle crash on the A90.

John Alexander Sutherland Stewart, 78, of Marykirk, died following the crash involving a car and a van on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road near Laurencekirk, at the junction with Marykirk.

Mr Stewart was driving the Dacia Duster. The driver of the van was uninjured.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries remain ongoing into the collision and anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision, or who saw the incident itself and who hasn’t yet come forward, is advised to contact police by calling 101 quoting incident reference number 3704 of 11 September as soon as possible.”
