Police were today investigating the sudden death of a man at an Aberdeen flat.
Officers made the grim discovery at an address in Summer Street and the incident is being treated as “unexplained”.
Detectives were called to the ground floor property last night and the scene was cordoned off with police tape.
One resident said she saw forensic units removing brown evidence bags from the flat.
The woman, who asked not to be named, said: “One of the officers asked us if we had heard anything on Friday.”
Forensic units arrived on the scene at 7pm last night and left at around 11pm, she added.
The remnants of police tape could be seen near the property this morning. A police van and two officers were also seen at the rear of the property.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that officers attended an address within the Summer Street area of Aberdeen yesterday and found the body of a man within.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances and the man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
