Police this afternoon said a woman found dead in an Aberdeen flat is “strongly believed” to be a 37-year-old from London.
Formal identification has yet to take place but officers believe it was Jessica McGraa, who sometimes goes by the name Bianca, who was found dead in the Union Terrace flat.
The detective leading the investigation, Detective Superintendent David McLaren, appealed for members of the public who saw or spoke to Jessica in the days or hours leading up to her death to come forward.
He said: “In particular, I am appealing for anyone who was in Jessica’s company or who spoke to her on Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10, Thursday 11 or Friday 12 February to come forward as a matter of urgency.
“Piecing together the events leading up to her body being discovered on Friday afternoon is crucial to our investigation.
“Jessica is also believed to have sometimes used the name ‘Bianca’, so this may be a name that people are more familiar with.
“Although a man has been arrested and charged we continue to gather evidence and would appeal for anyone who has information to contact us.”
A 25-year-old man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
