A POLICE helicopter has resumed the search for a North-east man who went missing nearly seven months ago.
Shaun Ritchie, 20, was last seen in the Strichen area, on October 31 last year and his disappearance sparked a major search operation.
The search was scaled back in December, but yesterday police were out looking for any clues to his whereabouts.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “We are periodically searching and the helicopter was up to help yesterday.
“Due to the better weather, the water levels are down so it is easier to see.
“Nothing was found.”
Shaun was on a night out for Halloween when he went missing. Police Scotland Inspector, Stewart Drummond, said there had been no evidence to suggest Mr Ritchie had been the victim of a crime.
Items of Shaun’s clothing were recovered as part of the early stages of the inquiry.
