Police divers join search for missing Aberdeen teen Liam Smith

Police divers were today drafted in to search for a schoolboy now missing for six days.

Liam Smith, 16, of Aberdeen, has been missing from home since Saturday and a major search operation was continuing today.

The search was focusing on the Banchory area – and police divers in kayaks were paddling along the River Dee from the Dee Street bridge towards Aberdeen and back.

“A decision has been taken to put police divers in kayaks in Banchory so they can go along the Dee as part of the search,” said a Police Scotland spokeswoman.
