Police have been cleared over a double murder in Aberdeen.
Tracy Gabriel and Keith Taylor were stabbed to death by Hugh Gallacher at Tillydrone’s Donside Court on July 19 last year.
After neighbours alerted the police, Gallacher, 56, died after jumping from a 12th floor flat.
As a result, the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc) launched an inquiry into the force’s handling of the incident.
A report was submitted to the Crown Office, which today said no charges would be made against the officers who attended the murder.
A Crown Office spokesman said: “After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, the procurator fiscal concluded that no further investigation is required.
“We have contacted families of the deceased and offered a meeting to discuss the matter.”
