Police Scotland has appealed for anyone with information about a caravan set on fire in Aberdeen to get in touch.

The incident happened at Overton Park in Dyce, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.10am, however, despite the best efforts of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, the caravan was destroyed.

DC Emma Low, who is leading the investigation, said: “Given how close the caravan was parked to the neighbouring property it’s extremely fortunate that no wider damage was caused nor was anyone hurt.

“It was a completely reckless act which put people in potential danger and it will not be tolerated.

“Did you see anything suspicious during the night in question or have information which could assist with our inquiries?

“Please contact police on 101 quoting reference number 0517 of Sep 15.”
