Police appeal after man, 26, found dead in transit van at Aberdeen hotel

An appeal has been launched after a man was found dead in a transit van parked outside an Aberdeen Travelodge.

Police and Ambulance crews were called to the hotel on Inverurie Road yesterday at around 12.10pm.

The death of the 26-year-old is being treated as unexplained and inquires are ongoing.

Officers are today appealing for anyone with information or may have saw the vehicle, a black Ford Transit van, registration BG55 PXZ to get in touch.

Detective Inspector David Howieson said: “As part of our inquiries it is crucial we piece together the movements of this man in the days leading up to his death.

“As such I would appeal to anyone who saw his van either parked in the same carpark or elsewhere in the city over the last few days to please get in touch as soon as possible.

“His next of kin have been informed and we are liaising closely with them.

“Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.

“Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting ref. number 1300 of Nov 21.”
