Police appeal after child allegedly assaulted on Aberdeen train

British Transport Police have released an image of a woman they hope to speak to in regard to an alleged assault of a child.

It is believed she may be able to assist the British Transport Police with inquiries following the incident while on a train travelling between Edinburgh and Aberdeen on Friday, January 20, between 4.20pm and 7.01pm.

The incident occurred on the 4.30pm Abellio ScotRail Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen service.

The woman, pictured, is described as being white, aged approximately 65 years old with dark shoulder length hair tied back with a bobble, she also wore generally dark clothing. She alighted from the train when it arrived at Aberdeen Railway Station.

Pc Steven Mitchell, who is investigating the case, said: “I am appealing to anyone who recognises the woman shown in the photograph to contact me as a matter of urgency.”
