Nearly 180 homes were left without power today.
Energy giant SSE has said that a damaged pole let to the fault, which caused an outage in 179 homes in the Peterhead and Fraserburgh areas.
Power has since been restored to the homes.
A spokeswoman for SSE said: “SSEN was alerted to a damaged pole on our network which resulted in the isolation of some supplies in the Fraserburgh and Peterhead areas this afternoon.
“Our engineers are currently on site making repairs and 179 customers were affected.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the power cut and thank our customers for their patience while our engineers carry out the repairs.
“If any customers have any additional concerns or requirements as a result of today’s fault please contact SSEN via the power cut helpline, 105.”
