A CALL has been made for tougher rules to be put in place to combat a litter problem on pitches at a city park.
Hazlehead Park has recently seen a rise in the number of drink bottles and discarded fireworks on its playing pitches.
And Councillor Martin Greig claims it has now become habitual for people to dump their rubbish on the pitches.
He said: “It’s a pity because Hazlehead Park is experiencing a bit of a litter problem with discarded fireworks and other items in various places around the park – there have been white goods dumped in Hazlehead Park previously.”
Hazlehead Park was Scotland’s first Climate Change Park, which involves recognition of the beauty spot’s potential to develop waste management projects.
