DISCUSSIONS are to take place which could see bars in Aberdeen granted permission to open longer during the festive period.
Proposals to give permission to all premises that want to open for an extra hour on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay are to be raised at a meeting of Aberdeen’s licensing board.
Licensing board member Councillor Alan Donnelly said: “We are anticipating a lot of applications from premises to open for an extra hour on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.
“We will be discussing the possibility of having a blanket on this for all premises in Aberdeen which require this.”
Cllr Donnelly said he would also be keen for extensions to be offered during special events in the city, such as Offshore Europe.
