Plans have been lodged to build a new cattery near a north-east town.
Proposals submitted to Aberdeenshire Council seek permission for the formation of a cattery and to build cattery pens at The Paddock Stables, Banchory.
Planning documents state: “The proposed cattery aims to directly replace a small timber stable block which has fallen into disrepair.
“The cattery buildings will directly replace the stables and will be similar in height and overall size.”
There would be 14 pens in total.
They add: “Cats kept on site will not be permitted to roam free (for exercising) within the times of their care at this facility. This will therefore avoid any issues with local wildlife.”
If approved the proposals promise the cattery would “generate additional employment as additional staff will be needed for their care or for any grooming services”.
