PLANS have been submitted for a 1,500 home development on the outskirts of a North-east village.
CHAP Group has submitted an application to Aberdeenshire Council for the new homes at the Park Quarry near Drumoak.
As part of the 1,500 homes, 500 will be affordable.
Developers first outlined plans for Kincluny Village in 2011, following a public consultation, however, the firm has spent the last four years drawing up more detailed proposals, as residents thought it was “just another housing estate.”
The planning permission in principle application has been lodged with Aberdeenshire Council.
Douglas Thomson, joint managing Director of CHAP Group, said: “Over the last four years we have sought to carefully design a new village that places great importance to the unique setting of the site as well as respect the character of the area.
“We firmly believe that the Park Quarry site provides a real opportunity to regenerate a brownfield site. There is growing and urgent demand for family houses, of all types, across Aberdeenshire.”
The plans will also include, a village square with provision for shops and cafes, community facilities including a school, sports hall, library, community rooms and a health centre.
