Proposals to turn office space into a new gym have been given the go-ahead by planners.
Fitness and Skin Studio Ltd applied to transform the basement, ground and first floor of 440 Union Street – next to Greggs near Holburn Junction – into a gym.
In their decision notice, planners said the change of use is considered to have a “beneficial impact” on the mix of uses in the area, contributing to a “vibrant city centre”.
They added no external alterations are proposed to the building and parking would be restricted to existing public facilities, meaning sustainable modes of transport would be prioritised.
The change of use has been approved subject to conditions.
These include that the premises is not used as any other leisure facility such as a cinema, concert hall, bingo hall, casino or nightclub.
Planners said this would protect residents from any additional harm.
