Plans for the alteration of a north-east church have been approved by the local authority.
Two planning applications were submitted for the Mearns Coastal Church in St Cyrus, which would see an extension at the rear of the building demolished and internal and external alterations carried out.
The work on the outside of the building was given full planning permission, whereas listed building consent was given to the other alterations.
Proposals were submitted on behalf of the Church of Scotland to Aberdeenshire Council by Kerry Smith Architects.
A report submitted by Aberdeenshire Council said: “The proposal would enable the building to be used as intended with no significant impact on the integrity and character of the listed building.
“As such it fully accords with Policy HE1 Protecting historic buildings, sites and monuments.”
