Plans for a new ice cream parlour in a north-east town have been approved.
The change of use application for the unit on Banchory’s High Street, near Scott Skinner Square, has been given the green light.
A design statement compiled by architect Matthew Merchant on behalf of a client said it would make a “positive contribution” to Banchory.

It said: “In full consideration of the previous use and the fact that the proposed use will make a positive contribution to the retailing, not only in Scott Skinner Square but also to the High Street and Banchory generally, the application should be given the unreserved support of the council.
“Therefore we respectfully request that the application be approved.”
An Aberdeenshire Council report said the project would fill an empty town centre property.
It added: “This development will make use of a vacant shop building within the town centre.”
