Proposals to allow drivers to park for free after 5pm at four city-centre car parks have been approved.
The Alive at Five scheme will offer free parking from 5-8pm on Monday to Saturday at the Denburn, Chapel Street, Frederick Street and West North Street car parks. Sunday will remain unchanged with drivers still paying to park from 1-5pm.
Aberdeen City Council operational delivery committee vice-convener Philip Bell said: “It is fantastic the Alive at Five scheme has been agreed by committee as it should encourage people to stay in the city centre longer into the evenings.”
The trial period for the scheme will start from October 1 and a review will be reported back to councillors on March 14.
