PLANS to develop a historic estate have been approved by councillors – despite objections from the residents.
Kincardine and Mearns area committee approved details of a masterplan for work at Fasque Estate, near Fettercairn, by six votes to five.
Fasque House Properties have previously outlined their masterplan for the site, including 115 homes, a visitors centre, a cafe and farm shop.
The development sits to the north west of Laurencekirk and is situated off the B974 Cairn O’ Mount Road.
Councillors at yesterday’s meeting agreed to details of the masterplan on two planning applications.
The first was for the layout, siting and design of 41 homes within the masterplan and the other for access, infrastructure and landscaping for the whole site.
Each of the applications received 12 objections.
