Councillors have backed plans to apply for £2 million lottery funding to pay for the upgrade of a popular park.
Members of Aberdeenshire Council’s Buchan area committee approved proposals to apply for the cash through the Heritage Lottery Fund in the hope of realising an improvement plan for Aden Country Park in Mintlaw.
Branded a “real success story” by area manager Chris White, a bid will now be made by the end of the month.
The park most visited in Aberdeenshire, and last year welcomed more than 350,000 guests
Planned improvements include creating a pedestrian and cycle path.
A holiday let cottage within the park itself would also be created.
